Strategic Leadership - Develop and execute the internal audit strategy aligned with the organization’s objectives. - Provide leadership and direction to the internal audit team. - Collaborate with senior management to integrate audit activities into the overall risk management framework. 2. Audit Planning and Execution - Develop an annual audit plan based on a risk assessment and in consultation with key stakeholders. - Execute audits, including financial, operational, and compliance audits, ensuring they are conducted efficiently and in accordance with professional standards. - Review and assess the effectiveness of internal controls. 3. Risk Assessment - Identify and assess key risks facing the organisation. - Develop and implement risk-based audit plans to address identified risks. 4. Governance & Internal control improvements - Providing assurance and consulting services independently and objectively aiming to add value and improve an organization's operations. It helps an organization accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, internal control, and governance processes. 5. Compliance and Ethics - Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. - Promote ethical behavior and adherence to the organisation's code of conduct. 6. Forensic audit - Extensive practical and professional experience in forensic audit and managing responsibility for investigation planning, evidence collection, reporting, and court procedures. - Identifying what fraud, if any, is being carried out Determining the period during which the fraud occurred Discovering how the fraud was concealed Naming the perpetrators of the fraud Quantifying the loss suffered as a result of the fraud Gathering relevant evidence that is admissible in court, suggesting measures to prevent such frauds from occurring in the future. 7. Reporting - Prepare comprehensive audit reports outlining findings, recommendations, and action plans. - Communicate audit results to senior management, the board of directors, and other stakeholders. 8. Collaboration - Collaborate with external auditors, regulators, and other stakeholders as necessary. - Work closely with other departments to address and resolve audit issues. 9. Quality assurance - Stay currently with industry trends, best practices and regulatory changed. - Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of internal audit processes. - Implementing internal and external evaluation programs that ensure the quality of internal audit activity. 10. Team Management - Recruit, train, and manage a team of internal auditors. - Foster a culture of continuous improvement, professional development, and ethical conduct within the internal audit department.
