Nadir Khelat

I am an experienced Chief of Internal Audit with more than 14 years of progressive experience in the insurance and reinsurance sector. Currently serving as Chief of the Internal Audit Division at Central Reinsurance Company (CCR), a B+ AM Best rated company, I am responsible for designing and implementing risk-based annual audit plans, assessing the effectiveness of internal control systems, and presenting key findings and strategic recommendations to the Board of Directors. My expertise covers a wide range of thematic audits, including treaty techniques (proportional, non-proportional and facultative), technical reserves, unpaid debts, claims, underwriting, receivables, human resources, and internal control processes.

Prior to this role, I spent ten years as Senior Internal Auditor at Salama Insurance Company in Algeria, where I participated in all phases of audit missions, contributed to the development of the annual audit plan, and ensured the reliability of financial information as well as compliance with regulatory frameworks. My earlier experience includes positions as Accounting and Financial Officer at Alliance Insurance Company and Sales Representative at Générale Assurance Méditerranéenne, which provided me with a solid understanding of both the operational and commercial sides of the insurance business.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Economics with a specialization in International Finance from Badji Mokhtar University (Annaba), complemented by specialized training in Internal Audit Mission Management. I am fluent in French and Arabic, with intermediate proficiency in English, and I am open to new professional opportunities in internal audit, risk management, and related fields.
