Operation & Maintenance Engineer – STP

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Operation & Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Qatar. The position is open to qualified engineers from Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering backgrounds with solid hands-on experience in Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) Operations & Maintenance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the reliable and efficient operation of STP systems, coordinating maintenance activities, monitoring plant performance, and ensuring compliance with operational, safety, and environmental requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and monitor the day-to-day operation of Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) systems and equipment.
• Ensure efficient and reliable operation of mechanical, electrical, and process-related plant systems.
• Supervise and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Monitor plant operating parameters, equipment performance, and process conditions.
• Identify operational issues and coordinate troubleshooting and corrective actions.
• Ensure pumps, blowers, motors, valves, control systems, and other critical equipment operate efficiently.
• Review operational data, maintenance records, and performance reports and take appropriate action when required.
• Coordinate with operators, technicians, maintenance teams, and other relevant personnel to ensure smooth plant operations.
• Ensure that maintenance and operational activities are carried out in accordance with approved procedures and safety requirements.
• Support compliance with applicable health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Maintain accurate operational, maintenance, and technical documentation.
• Assist in identifying opportunities to improve plant reliability, efficiency, and overall performance.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in STP/Wastewater Treatment Plant Operations & Maintenance (O&M).
• Minimum 3 years of work experience in the GCC.
• Strong practical knowledge of wastewater treatment plant operations and maintenance.
• Good understanding of plant equipment, systems, troubleshooting, and maintenance practices.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Currently residing in Qatar with a valid Qatar ID (QID).
